30 years ago, before Bobrisky there was another Bob!
Bob Actor The Calypso King.
Bob was an an actor and musician and his desire was to be the first African to have a sex change.
Bob Actor was married with at least one child but lived as a cross dressing male, often seen dressed as a woman.
In this interview with Lagos Weekend in 1989 he explained that he had always felt like a woman trapped in a mans body and since the option of a full sex change was available he would get it done.
“I do not even bother myself about what people may say, after all no one is above criticism. I only got married to prove to people I’m not impotent either”
He said that once it was done he could stay married but the love between he and is wife “will automatically change from marital, to sisterly or friendly love”
“I intend to get married to a man after my change” my wife can move on.
I’ve even received a marriage proposal from a black American and we intend to have our own children”
He went on to state that “people make history just like history makes people. I know what I’m doing because I’m not insane.
Does anybody know where he is today?
Did he eventually become the first African to have a sex change?
