
Oba Adesoji Aderemi, Ooni of Ife (1930 – 1980) who also served as the governor of the Western Region, Nigeria between 1960 and 1962.

He had been living in an older, smaller home for the first 8 years into his rule and had previously refused to authorise the construction of a better home until the Native Administration had completed and paid for the clean, piped water supply provided to his people.
